1st Kids

But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."   Luke 18:16

Through the teaching of Biblical principles, we help children of all ages develop a closer relationship with Christ.  We partner with parents and caregivers to help children learn and apply Christian values in their daily lives.  Whether it's Sunday School each week, Kid's Own Worship  or Vacation Bible School there are plenty of opportunities for children to grow in Christ.

Ways your child can get involved:

  • Sunday School each week at 9:15 am
  • Kid's Own Worship (during 10:30 worship services)
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Children's Choirs
  • Special events just for kids

*On Sunday mornings and during certain events, several doors to the children's area will be locked.

Parents will need to bring children to Sunday School and other activities in the children's area

by the Welcome Center for check-in.

This area can be found just down the hall from the elevator downstairs or at the bottom of the stairwell coming in from the covered drop off area on the upper level.

Bowling at Crest Lanes,  330 Whitecrest Drive, Maryville

Instead of the boys going to Pastor Parker Benson’s home in Happy Valley,  they will meet Ms. Denise at the bowling alley for some indoor fun.   (The high head and humidity means a change in venue and activity).

  • Packing for the Food Ministry

Mondays at 11:00 am through July 25th

Tuesdays at 10:00 am through July 26th

The 1st  Kids Ministry program is again partnering with Carpenter’s Campground United Methodist Church and Second Harvest to provide food to children who are at risk of not having enough to eat.  These food packages are delivered directly to the homes of the children.

This year, all the adult Sunday School classes have been asked to help by making either cash donations or purchasing fresh fruit for the packages.

The home delivery of food begins May 30th and ends on July 25th .  Children can help every Monday at 11:00 am to pack fruit or deliver food on Tuesdays at 10:00 am.  (Children must have completed second grade to help with deliveries).

Sign your children up by clicking here.

Held in the Children’s area on the lower level, each class is divided by age levels and is staffed with two adults who have been through Safe Sanctuaries training.
