united methodist women

The United Methodist Women is an organization committed to cultivating the spiritual life of its members and contributing to mission projects, locally, regionally and internationally.

One continuing project for the UMW is making prayer bears.  These hand sewn teddy bears have a small wooden heart with the words "God Loves You" on it.  The prayers are given out to people in need of that reminder.  If you know of someone who needs a prayer bear, please contact a member of the United Methodist Women or Donna Doede at doedew@bellsouth.net .

The entire group of United Methodist Women meets the third Thursday of each month at the church (or someone close) for a luncheon and program.  Several special programs are also organized throughout the year.

Knit together ministry

Second Thursday of Each month

10:00 am - noon

On the second Thursday of each month, a group meets here at the church to knit prayer shawls and other items to be given to people who are ill, have suffered a loss or are in the midst of a crisis.  The group also knits blankets for infants being baptized.

There are two ways to be involved in this ministry.  You can knit or crochet a shawl or blanket ore give a financial donation to the group.  Each shawl costs about $15.

For more information on being part of this ministry please contact Sally Thierbach at 865-774-4532 or email her at sthierbach@gmail.com
