  • Covenant Bible Studies

    Starting Soon

The Bible is a great tool to use in our daily lives, but too often many of us only study it a few verses or possibly a few chapters at a time. The Covenant Bible Study offers a chance to study the entire Bible in a way designed to better fit in to your busy schedules.

This in-depth study is divided into three 8-week sessions that will be begin at different times during the year with breaks in between each session.

    Session 1 - Creating

Thursdays at 10:00 am starting August 9th

    Rev. Nathan Irwin

    Session 2 - Living

    Session 3 - Trusting

  • Faces of Our Faith (Bible Study)

    Wednesdays in August

    10:00 am in Room 205

There are many heroes of the faith, people we admire and wish to be.  However, there are even more ordinary people of faith; those doing what they can with what they have to make a difference. During this study in the month of August, we will look at some of these often overlooked people.

This study led by Rev. Sarah Slack is tied to the Faces of Our Faith sermon series which begins on July 29th.

  • Book Club

united methodist women

The United Methodist Women is an organization committed to cultivating the spiritual life of its members and contributing to mission projects, locally, regionally and internationally.

One continuing project for the UMW is making prayer bears.  These hand sewn teddy bears have a small wooden heart with the words "God Loves You" on it.  The prayers are given out to people in need of that reminder.  If you know of someone who needs a prayer bear, please contact a member of the United Methodist Women or Donna Doede at doedew@bellsouth.net .

The entire group of United Methodist Women meets the third Thursday of each month at the church (or someone close) for a luncheon and program.  Several special programs are also organized throughout the year.

The Men’s Bible Study group has been meeting on Thursday mornings for about four years. The group typically uses a video-based and discussion-led format to explore the Bible and grow in the understanding of faith and practice.  This study typically has 10 to 15 men who attend that are in the age range from 40 to 90; younger and older are welcome.

Knit together ministry

Second Thursday of Each month

10:00 am - noon

On the second Thursday of each month, a group meets here at the church to knit prayer shawls and other items to be given to people who are ill, have suffered a loss or are in the midst of a crisis.  The group also knits blankets for infants being baptized.

There are two ways to be involved in this ministry.  You can knit or crochet a shawl or blanket ore give a financial donation to the group.  Each shawl costs about $15.

For more information on being part of this ministry please contact Sally Thierbach at 865-774-4532 or email her at sthierbach@gmail.com
