It sure didn't feel like fall on October 30th as hundreds of people came out to enjoy one of the biggest events of the year at 1st UMC-Maryville. The Fall Festival at 1st featured dozens of cars lined up for trunk-or-treat, inflatabels, crafts, face painting, hot dogs and the perennial favorite, the train ride!
We would like to thank the dozens of volunteers who helped pull it all together, the agencies and organizations who chose to be a part of the event this year, and of course all the people who took time out of their day to spend time with the people of 1st UMC. We also want to let you know that the Food Connection of Blount County managed to collect 400 cans of food during the event, a great result for the first ever food drive at the Fall Festival.
If you are looking for a church to attend, we hope the Fall Festival gave you a taste of our hospitality. We invite you to come back for other special events over the next few weeks as well as worship on Sunday Mornings at 8:15 and 10:30. On Sunday, December 4th the children of the church will present a special Christmas themed play complete with music and a time for crafts, fellowship and food afterward. That all gets underway at 5:00 that night. On Christmas Eve, December 24th at 2:00 pm in the afternoon, you are invited to a special worship service designed with children and families in mind, but really an uplifting experience no matter who you are.
