J.o.Y. Fellowship

So, how do you pronounce words like oil, fire or creek? When you order a soft drink, do you ask for a coke, a soda or pop? And what sayings you use help identify where you are from?

For October's J.O.Y. Fellowship Lunch, Dr. Sam Overstreet, English professor at Maryville College, brings you a closer look at local dialects, what shaped them and how we all use them everyday.

Chef Amelia will be cooking lunch which is $5. The linguistics lesson is free.

Let us know you're coming by filling out the form on this page.
