1st UMC works with Habitat for Humanity of Blount County building homes.  

The partnership dates back more than 20 years.  Another home build is in the works.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
1st UMC – Maryville will be joining other United Methodist Churches in the  Maryville District in building the home.  Work days are generally on Thursdays and Saturdays.  
The home is at 207 W. Howe Street in Alcoa

FAMILY PROMISE
1st UMC hosts Family Promise at several times throughout the year. This organization helps homeless families stay together while getting back on their feet. Several times each year, 1st UMC hosts families in the program, something that requires many volunteers.
There will be several opportunities for volunteering in 2017.
