Celebrate Recovery Worship Leader

Job description:

The ministry of the Celebrate Recovery Worship Leader shall be consistent with the principles of the Holy Bible, and the philosophies of the United Methodist Church as outlined in the Book of Discipline. The Celebrate Recovery Worship Leader shall work under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee, and report directly to the Pastor of Celebrate Recovery.

Minimum of 5 -7 hours per week

Qualifications :

• Minimum 2 years experience leading contemporary worship

• Must have strong Christian values, a heart for Spirit-filled worship, and the ability to help usher the congregation into the

   presence of the Holy Spirit

• Excellent contemporary lead singing skills

• Ability to play either guitar or keyboard with a contemporary praise band

• Ability to create or provide appropriate charts, lyrics, or music for the team, including the projectionist, in a timely manner.

• Must have good organizational and communication skills

• Willingness and ability to work as an ensemble with other instruments, voices, and the audio/visual team


Celebrate Recovery Worship Service: Wednesdays at 6:30:

• Lead the sound check run-through at 4:00 – 5:30 on Wednesday evenings

• Sing lead part and accompany (guitar or keyboard) on congregational band songs during the service

• Provide special musical offerings for communion and offertory as needed

Rehearsals / Meetings:

• Organize and lead weekly Celebrate Recovery Band rehearsals (currently on Wednesdays, 4:00 – 5:30) but is flexible as

   Worship Leader or group’s schedule dictates

• Email the CR Band the weekly song list for the rehearsals and services

• Attend regular planning meetings with the Pastor of Celebrate Recovery as assigned

• Attend possible extra rehearsals for special services
