WELCOME TABLE

Starting on August 5th, Welcome Table will return to indoor service.

As meal service moves indoors there will be several changes as we still deal with COVID-19.

Here are a few changes to keep in mind.

  • Dinner service will now begin at 4:30 pm and run through 6:00 pm.
  • Guests will be asked to wait outside the doors to Asbury Hall.
  • At the start, volunteers and guests will be asked to wear masks inside (except when eating or drinking).
  • Seating capacity will be 120 guests.
  • There will be NO “to go” meals for guests.
  • No transportation will be provided.

We invite YOU to our table where everyone is always WELCOME!

There is no charge and no qualifying for this meal, just come and let us serve you.

A MINISTRY AT WORK

When this ministry first began at 1st United Methodist Church we fed around 9-thousand people.  In 2017, that number had grown to 12-thousand.  Combined with the meals served at Welcome Table at New Providence Presbyterian Church, that number climbs to 26-thousand.

  • The average cost of a meal at Welcome Table is $1.85.
  • Donations are received from the Soup Kitchen, Ruby Tuesday, and Mother Earth Meats.
  • There is no charge to guest for Welcome Table meals.
  • Chef Amelia Geis-Scott coordinates the meals at both churches.

If you have any questions for her or are interested in volunteering send her an email to  ameliageis@yahoo.com.

ARE YOU WILLING TO SERVE?

While the food at Welcome Table is only served from 5:00 to 6:00, there are dozens of people behind the scenes making this meal possible.  It takes a team of volunteers to prepare the food, serve it and to help clean up afterward.  Would you consider taking time out of your Thursdays to help us "Welcome" everyone?
