Easter Sunday is just the beginning of the Easter Sunday.  We entered this season of celebrating Christ's Resurrection on April 20th this year.  The Easter Season will continue until the day of Pentecost on June 8th. 


Easter in Maryville at 1st United Methodist Church  offers everyone opportunities to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ; to see how that moment transformed the world; and how it continues to offer hope for all.  As we come together we reflect on the power of God's love for us through the story of Easter. 


Whether you are a lifelong follower of Christ, are exploring faith for the first time, or simply seeking a place where you feel welcome, we invite you to experience Easter in Maryville.

Building hope

Since 1994, 1st UMC has been a strong partner with Blount County Habitat for Humanity both financially and with the support of many members volunteering on site through the years. 


This Easter we are asking you to consider a gift above and beyond your regular giving to help us complete our latest home build for Mathiang Gutnyin and his family.  


Back in 2015, Mathiang, one of the "Lost Boys of Sudan" spoke to a group of people attending a Sunday School Sampler here at 1st UMC. This year, he and his family hope to have a home to call their own thanks to the generosity of  the people of 1st UMC and other churches and organizations. 

All money collected through the 2025 Easter Offering will help meet 1st UMC's obligations as a sponsor of this build.

To give, simply write "Habitat" in the memo line of your check and place it in the offering plate during worship, or use the envelopes in the pews/seats.
