The 1st UMC Chancel Choir and Orchestra presents its 2021 Christmas Cantata during the 10:30 am worship service with an encore at 7:00 pm. This year's Cantata is Alan Bullard’s A Light in the Stable. This piece features recognizable carols like: “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Away in a Manger” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” and it is centered around the melody “Of Our Father’s Love Begotten.” Additionally, though, there are original songs that depict the angels singing “Glory to God,” Mary singing a lullaby to the newborn Jesus, and more. Throughout Advent & Christmas, "The Weary World REJOICES" as together we prepare for and celebrate the birth of a Savior.
