Failing to listen because we only want to be heard is something addressed in Proverbs 18:13. And in Proverbs 18:2 we are reminded that a fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing personal opinion. In a time of 24 hour news and commentary, social media and an intense focus on divisions listening might just be the best tool we have for calming the atmosphere. And in doing so we might just gain some wisdom. As we come together for worship (online and in-person) let us learn why it's important to LISTEN before we REACT.
