The Pharisees, teachers of the law, scribes and other authorities recognized Jesus' influence as a teacher or rabbi, but they struggled with recognizing Jesus' authority as the Son of god. In 2024 we struggle with some of the same conflicts. Do we acknowledge only Jesus' influence in our lives or do we place more value on other sources? Do we recognize Jesus as holy and in a league all his own? And do we recognize Jesus as the very nature and Word of God?
