Looking for a worship service where you are made to feel welcome in God's presence without stigma and/or rules? Starting in October, 1st UMC offers its first "barrier free" worship service at the 1st UMC @ Sycamore Tree Campus. This special time of worship is designed for people living with dementia, cognitive challenges or various expressions of neurodivergence. During this simple service there will ba special emphasis placed on the atmosphere, the music and prioritizing how people feel in this time and space. If a person might tend to speak out or vocalize during worship, that's ok. If someone wants to get up and move, that's ok too. Future plans call for this service to happen each Second Sunday.
