Looking for a worship service where you are made to feel welcome in God's presence without stigma and/or rules? 1st UMC offers a "barrier free" worship service at the 1st UMC @ Sycamore Tree Campus. This special time of worship is designed for people living with dementia, cognitive challenges or various expressions of neurodivergence. During this simple service there will be a special emphasis placed on the atmosphere, the music and prioritizing how people feel in this time and space. If a person might tend to speak out or vocalize during worship, that's ok. If someone wants to get up and move, that's ok too. This service happens each Second Sunday.
