People have grown weary when it comes to hearing about incidents of gun violence. Shane Claiborne, and Michael Martin wrote a book addressing this issue. "Beating Guns: Hope for People Who are Weary of Violence" was the focus of a study here at 1st Church. At the end of the sessions, co-author Shane Claiborne paid the group a visit. He grew up in Maryville and was able to sit in on the book discussion and talk to people afterward. There are a few pictures from that visit below.
