Ash Wednesday - Drive Through
Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Lenten season, a time when Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.
Traditionally, during Ash Wednesday services, the minister would lightly rub the sign of the cross with ashes onto the foreheads of worshipers, a Biblical symbol of mourning and repentance. This year, due to COVID-19 that will not happen.
From Noon to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 to 6:00 pm you are invited to drive through the Porte-Cochere (covered drop off) to receive sackcloth and ashes (not on your forehead) that you can carry away and keep as a reminder through the season of Lent.
At 7:00 am on this day, you are invited to join a brief online Ash Wednesday Service on the church's Facebook Page, YouTube Channel and Website. You can also stream the Celebrate Recovery Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 pm.
