In Genesis 6, 2 we learn that the 40-day flood is a result of God's broken heart. "The Lord was sorry that he made humankind on the earthy, and it grieved him to his heart." Lent offers us a season to seek the ways that we might "grieve" God through our sinfulness, willfulness, and waywardness. On this Sunday we ask "How do we embrace Lent as a season of confession?"
