equipping people through

GROUPS

Whether it's a Bible Study, an informal gathering of friends, or coming together to share a love for a certain activity, groups play an important role in equipping us for discipleship.

We are better able both to feel a sense of belonging and to offer each other effective care in smaller settings than in the larger connection of the congregation.

Here at 1st Church we offer ways for you study, learn & grow in your faith as part of smaller groups.

SMALL GROUP

bIBLE STUDIES

Whether it's a Covenant Bible Study or a seasonal study for the Lenten or Advent Season we have many opportunities that EQUIP you for discipleship by diving further into your faith.

Please check out the group meeting calendar below to see the current Bible Study groups that are meeting.

small groups @1st

When we start small, BIG things can happen and that is true when you are part of a small group.  In these settings we can support each other in our lives as followers of Christ.  In the fall of 2023 we kicked off a new focus on small groups outside of our Bible Studies and more traditional men's and women's groups.  The Small Groups @1st will meet weekly in homes, at restaurants, and all over the community with the intent of intentionally:

  • building community,
  • broadening our faith
  • offering support,
  • and enriching our lives.

men's BIBLE STUDY

For many years now, men have been gathering early in the morning one day a week here at 1st Church for Bible Study.

Led by Owen Ragland, this Men's Bible Study group typically follows a video-based and discussion-led format to explore the Bible and grow in the understanding of faith and practice.

The group is usually made up of 10 to 15 men in the age range from 40 to 90; younger and older men are welcome to be a part of this weekly Bible study.

The Men's Bible Study group recently sponsored a Medic Blood Drive here at the church and hope to sponsor similar events in the future.
