our call to go.do.

putting faith

into action

So faith by itself; if it has now works, is dead.

-James 2:17

For more than 150 years, the people of 1st Church have served as the hands and feet  of Jesus Christ here in Maryville and around the globe.

In this way the people of 1st United Methodist Church are putting faith into action and working to improve the lives of others while showing Christ's love, compassion and grace.

REACH OUT TO MINISTRY/MISSON LEADERS

LET US KNOW WHERE YOU WANT TO go.do.

where can we SEND YOU TO

GO.DO.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

-Acts 1:8

God has given each of us certain gifts that we can use to serve others in the name of Christ.

Our goal to REACH, CONNECT, EQUIP and SEND is not a four step process that comes to an end when we Go.Do.  In fact it actually starts the process over again as putting our faith into action allows us to REACH into the lives of others who may not know the love of Christ.

Whether you are a long time follower of Christ or someone still exploring what that means, serving in even in small ways can help you grow in your faith.  So, where can we SEND you to Go.Do?

the blessing box

Take what you need, leave what you can.  Those are the simple instructions for the 1st UMC Blessing Box at the front of our parking lot.  Church members made this parking lot pantry to help serve immediate needs for food items.

Donating items to the Blessing Box is a simple way to put your faith in action.  Please bring non-perishable items ONLY.  You can put items in the box at any time.  At certain times of the year, we may also ask for specific items to be donated so be watching for those.

YOUR DONATIONS

HELP US HELP OTHERS

Over the years we have partnered with Knox Area Rescue Ministries in many different ways.  We encourage you to help out KARM by going to one of their centers and donating items as part of the Corners of Your Field partnership.

When you drop off items, please be sure and tell the folks at KARM that you are donating on behalf of 1st United Methodist Church - Maryville.

Through this partnership, KARM Stores return a portion of the value of the donated items in the form of KARM gift cards to the church so that we can directly help those in our care.  Learn more about KARM, what items you can donate and where to find donation drop offs at karm.org .
