WAYS TO SERVE
Church can happen when giving your time gives
someone new hope and
when opening hearts inspires joy.
___________________________________
God calls us to Go.Do. and serve others. Together through Christ we can Go and Do big things. Here at 1st UMC, you will find volunteers working faithfully with ministries like Welcome Table, Celebrate Recovery and Family Promise. But the work doesn't stop there.
Volunteers from the church are working across the community, across the country and around the world, helping improve the lives of others.
Three of our biggest ministries rely on the dedication of dozens of volunteers.

BLESS THE BLESSING BOX
One easy way to Go.Do. and be a blessing to others is to donate items to our Blessing Box located in the parking lot of the church near the entrance from Montvale Station Road (on the left side facing the church.) Please bring non-perishable items ONLY. You can bring the items anytime.
BLESS THE BLESSING BOX
Each week in September we want to help people using the Blessing Box (in the parking lot of the church) have basic items they can use to create a meal. You can bring them anytime during that week. Just put them in the box. If there isn’t room, just bring them in to the church office.

UPDATE FROM KULDIGA UMC, LATVIA
Kuldiga United Methodist Church is a sister church to 1st UMC Maryville. For more than a decade the people of 1st Church have supported this Latvian church in many ways including financial support and repeated mission visits.
On Sunday, November 20, there was a big celebration in the Kuldiga Church - the 100th anniversary of the founding and 22 years since its restoration. There was a celebration of this milestone along with many other important updates from Kuldiga in a recent letter from the church's pastor.
Ron & Carol Werker are organizing the trip to the meeting and to our sister church in Kuldiga. More information at the link below.
KARM DONATIONS
Over the years we have partnered with Knox Area Rescue Ministries in many different ways. We encourage you to help out KARM by going to one of their centers and donating items as part of the Corners of Your Field partnership.
When you drop off items, please be sure and tell the folks at KARM that you are donating on behalf of 1st United Methodist Church - Maryville.
Through this partnership, KARM Stores return a portion of the value of the donated items in the form of KARM gift cards to the church so that we can directly help those in our care. Learn more about KARM, what items you can donate and where to find donation drop offs at karm.org .
WHERE DO YOU WANT TO SERVE?
Outreach ministries at 1st UMC are based on
this scripture from Acts which gives us a call to "Go.Do."
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witness in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.
Acts 1:8
Do you feel the call to "Go Do?"
Let us know where you want to serve.
