Jesus gave us a commandment to love one another as he had loved us. The Gospel of John tells us, Jesus did this on the night before his betrayal and arrest. On the Thursday before Easter, we turn to this story from Jesus' last days. It serves as an important reminder in a time filled with division and angst. We refer to this as Maundy Thursday which comes from the Latin word "mandatum" which means "commandment." Through a service of music, message and communion we put the focus on our need to show love to others as Jesus did, even when we might feel we have reasons not to show that love.
